Thanksgiving 2011

Thanksgiving this year was pretty low key. We had it at our house with just my mom and dad, but still managed to fix a feast...way too much food. But it was good!

Grace was so excited to eat! She helped a lot.

Brooks' first Thanksgiving. He loved all the food!

My brother did come to visit that weekend and stayed with us. The new addition was a great place for them to stay and all the kids had a ball together.

Brooks ~ 11 months ~ November 15, 2011

I can't believe it's only a few days after you month birthday and I am actually posting already. But that is what happens when we finally have a free Saturday.

Thank goodness we are getting close to your 1st birthday. These pictures are really getting harder and harder to get. You are so active!

As you can tell from the pictures this month, you are able to get into, onto anything you want to. You are such a good mannered baby but oh my, you are keeping us hopping.

Well, let's see...this month you have become a walker. It sure didn't take long to master that task. And you are having so much fun now!

Boy, do you have a temper. If you don't get your way, you can throw one heck of a fit. As you can tell from the picture above. But, what is so funny is as soon as you get your way, you shut off the tears, crying, fit throwing. I guess you could say you are SPOILED!

You are wearing mostly 18 month clothes now and size 4 diapers. You are definitely a big boy!

You have added "nana" for banana to your vocabulary, plus ni ni (night night), something that is starting to sound like sissy for Grace (which makes her really happy), no, hi, and several more words.

You are eating almost all table foods now. But you still have to have that bottle every 3 to 4 hours during the day. I am starting to worry about you having to give that up soon. Taylor and Grace gave the bottle up all on their own around their first birthday, but your stubbornness may keep you from doing it. Hmmm....this could get interesting.

I can not believe that you will be a year old in less than a month. Where in the world did the past year go! I am so excited for the upcoming holidays and for your birthday. I am just wondering though if the Christmas tree is going to survive!

Fun at MeMa's House

My mom keeps Brooks for me while I work and it is such a blessing. They have so much fun together. She is also great about taking pictures of him. So here are a few of his many fun times and faces at MeMa and PaPa's house.

Brooks loves to ride the lawn mower with PaPa

 And sometimes drive by himself!

Brooks ~ 10 months ~ October 15, 2011

My oh my! In 2 months you will be a year old! Unbelievable. I can remember this time last year and I was so anxious to get you here. Well, I started this post just a few days after your turned 10 months, and am just now getting around to finishing it, just a few days until you turn 11 months. Oh well, I guess that is the life of a working mom of 3!

You are wearing size 4 diapers. In clothes, you are wearing 18 month shirts mostly and 12 month pants. 18 month pants fit, but I usually have to roll them.
You have definitely earned your name of "monkey" because you are into, onto, climbing, crawling, pulling up, you name it - you are doing it. You are soooo active. I don't remember Taylor or Grace being quite as active as you are!
You are eating a lot now. You love to feed yourself. You would rather do that than let us feed you. You love peaches, bananas, goldfish, macaroni and cheese, and tons more. You are still in love with your bottle too. Which I am beginning to worry about! You seem like you are going to have a hard time giving that up.
You love to wrestle with your daddy. Every night almost after your bath, you two will get down in the floor of my bedroom and wrestle. It is so cute. You get so tickled!
You are on the verge of walking. A couple of steps here and there.
You have added the word "kitty" to your vocabulary. While you and I were sitting in the chair one day you looked out and saw Princess, our cat, and said "kitty" just a plain as day. I was shocked.
Taylor and Grace absolutely adore you. The only thing they don't like is how quick you are. You have a sense when they leave their bedroom doors open, you make a bee line to their room. They don't like that though!
As you can tell from the pictures, you will not sit still. You don't know how hard I worked to just get the few of the pictures that I did get of you. Most of the ones I got were of the back of your head because as soon as I would sit you down, you would take off!

It is still so hard for me to believe that you are almost a year old! My life has been changed so much in the last year - for the better! I am so blessed to me your mom!
