Beach Vacation ~ Loving me some sand and sun ~ well sand

Bet you thought I was going to give a play by play of each day. No way, we aren't that exciting. Plus, I didn't take my camera each and every day. But I do have the first full day on the beach documented pretty good. We woke up to guess what - RAIN! We left home and hadn't seen rain in days, with 100 + tempartures, and come to Florida and find the rain. So we didn't get in any hurry about getting down on the beach. From what we could tell, the rain was going to move out soon, so we cooked a big breakfast and then headed down for some fun in the sun, err clouds.

Brooks decides he is going to crawl while we are on vacation!

Brooks loved to sit at the edge and splash at the water.

Beach Vacation ~ Day 2 ~ We made it!

Day 2 ~ July 16 ~ We made it to the beach! Oh wait, it's raining. I thought this was suppose to be sunny Florida! We didn't care, we were going on the beach any way! We didn't get to our condo - The Dunes at Seagrove - until about 4:00 p.m. So we didn't have too much time on the beach by the time we unloaded everything and then headed the grocery store. It was actually kind of cool with the rain and wind.

Did I mention it was rainy and windy?

Brooks loved the waves and water!

Everyone was so excited to finally be here. We could not wait for the week ahead.

Beach Vacation ~ Day 1 ~ On the road

Day 1 ~ July 15 ~ Left home around 8 am for Hattiesburg, MS which was our planned overnight stop. Our fingers were crossed that all 7 of us, yes 7 in one car, would do good. I set goals for places for us to reach before stopping and had hopes we would make it there.

The trip was going so good. We had stopped in Conway for lunch and then got right back on the road. Everyone was having a great time. Our next stop would be at a park in Eudora, AR. We were making such good time. We stopped and let the kids run around while I fed and changed Brooks. We loaded back up and had high hopes that it was our last stop before reaching Hattiesburg. Well, we should have known things were going way to smooth. Not a mile or two outside of town, we all heard something as we ran over it in the road. Didn't think too much of it at the time. Then just a few seconds later JD says that our sensor is showing a low tire. So we pull over on the side of a narrow road in the middle of no where, and yep we had a flat. Not just a little flat, a sliced tire flat!

Allie getting here first lesson at changing a flat tire.
More lessons learned.

Don't they look like they are having fun!

Finally, so excited to be back in the cool car and back on the road!

The end of day one was successful! And by successful, I mean  no one was lost, no one was left behind, and no one was fighting. We made it to Hattiesburg around 7:00 that evening and crashed!

Brooks ~ 7 months ~ July 15, 2011

The day you turned 7 months, we were loading the car and heading to Florida. But I did manage to snap a few pictures before we left. I must say you did awesome on the trip! I was so proud of you!

You are growing like a weed! I would say you weigh around 20 pounds now and you are so tall! A very big boy! Size 3 diapers still fit, but I am not for sure how much longer! You are completely in 9 months clothes and a lot of what you are wearing is 12 months now too.

You are still jabbering up a storm. You haven't really added any new words but you have definitely perfected the ones you were saying. It is so cute to watch you grow, learn, and change. You have an awesome personality. Just within the past couple of days I think you have learned to do kisses with you mouth. That's what I am calling it anyway.

You are eating so much baby food and food now. You love your finger foods. You have been getting the wagon wheels, puffs, and pretty much anything you can get your hands on (watemelon, avacado, banana). You love to feed yourself. We even started giving you some Stage 3 foods (spaghetti, lasagna) and you love them. I imagine before too long you will be ready for only finger/table foods. We are trying a sippy cup but you are one lazy boy. Unless someone holds it for you, you won't hardly drink out of it. Not that you can't you just won't!

You are sleeping pretty good. You have 6 teeth right now. Four of which are all trying to come in at once, so I think it is affecting how you are sleeping. Also you are CRAWLING, everywhere! So that is bothering at night also. You just can't seem to be still! You are on the move all the time. Nothing is safe any more. Your crawl is so funny though. You don't get up on your hands and knees for very long, maybe 3 or 4 steps and then you get on your belly and army crawl everywhere. But you are one fast dude! You have also learned to crawl and then sit up all by yourself. I can't believe how fast you are growing and changing.

I have been told by so many people what a good baby you are. And you really are! You are so content. Now, don't get me wrong, you can throw yourself one big fit from time to time also but for the most part you are so good. You are spoiled beyond belief! But that's okay!

I do believe though that you are going to be our little spitfire as you keep learning new things. You just have that look of determination in your eyes!

Every month that goes by becomes my favorite and I just want to keep you like this forever. I know that that is not possible and I know you are going to bring such joy and happiness to our lives as you grow!

Psalm 28:7 "So my heart rejoices; with my song I praise my God."

Proverbs 22:6
"Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it."
