Lake Fort Smith

After church on Sunday, we wanted to head out and do something fun with the kids. Since it was already almost noon we didn't want to have to drive too far, so we decided to head up to Lake Fort Smith. So, we packed up a lunch and headed out. We had a great afternoon and the kids had so much fun. We talk all the time about wanting to go hiking and visiting the different state parks. After yesterday, we definitely want to go some more. Brooks did great, other than the car ride (which he hates!). Pray for us when we go to Florida this summer...that could be interesting. Brooks loved the hike and didn't fuss at all. I carried him most of the way but on the way back, I had to pass him off because he is getting so heavy! Taylor and Grace loved the "adventure" and really liked the spots where there was water to get into.

Grace wanted me to take a picture of the butterfly.

Brooks did not like how cold the water was!

Fun Day with the family!

Brooks ~ 5 Months Old ~ May 15, 2011

5 Months! Really! Oh my goodness I can not tell you where the time has gone. I am absolutely loving this time! I can not wait until summer break and all the fun things we are going to get to do!

You are still wearing size 3 diapers. I have the biggest, chunkiest legs ever! And I love them!

You are wearing a lot of 9 months clothes right now. You are getting so big that I don't think the 6 month clothes are going to make it much longer!

You make the cutest sounds while you are eating your cereal now ~ mmmmm! Almost as if you are telling me how good it is. We also gave you some sweet potatoes this week and you really liked them. Taylor and Grace picked the type of food to start you on.

Your eating schedule is pretty much the same. You still love to eat every 3 hours. And you are sleeping GREAT! Oh, and you don't have to be swaddled any more!!! You started rolling over, even being swaddled and it was really worrying me so one night I left your arms out and you slept fantastic. You will sleep for the first couple of hours on your back and then some time in the night you will roll over and sleep on your tummy. I worried and worried about you sleeping that way, but after talking to the doctor, she assured me that if you are doing it on your own, to leave you alone. So, we are all getting a great night's sleep now! You are still sleeping in you pack n play in our bedroom. I just can't but you in your own room yet! It's too far away!
You can roll over faster than any baby I know. We put you down to play and before we can even let go of you, you are on your tummy. You will play like that for a little while and then get mad because you aren't going any where. You are really starting to get your arms and legs moving so I think you will be trying to crawl before too long.

You now have two teeth broke through on the bottom. But you are still a drool monster! They are both peaking through your gums and look so cute!

Just based off our our scales, I think you weigh around 18 pounds now. I know that you are heavy! During church you love to listen to the music, but as soon as the music stops you won't let me sit down. I usually end of standing at the back bouncing you and boy do my arms get tired! But I love it!

Bath time is so much fun. You have started splashing and love to play while taking a bath. Thank goodness you started liking your bath! We can't have a stinky baby!

Sixteen more days until summer break starts and I can't wait. I know you love being with MeMa everyday, but I can not wait until I get to spend every day, all day with you! Especially with everything you will be doing soon!

Sweet baby boy, you are a dream come true! We honestly do not know what we would do with out you in our lives. You have added so much to our family...you have no idea! God knew what he was doing when he made me your mom! I thank Him every day!

Is it really May?

By looking at the pictures I am posting with this entry, you definitely will not think it is the middle of May. This past weekend was unseasonably cold. What is up with this crazy weather. First we had days and days of rain, then it got really not, now it has turned back off cold. Maybe it will decide what it wants to do soon. Because of all the crazy weather, Taylor and Grace have both suffered with illness. Grace had pneumonia at the beginning of April. Taylor had it last week. And this morning, we woke up with Grace having a fever and her cough still. So, another trip to the doctor. Geez, can I get a break please. 16 more days until school is out for summer break and it can not get here fast enough for me!

This past weekend, we hosted our Sunday School class and had a craw fish and shrimp boil. I feel so blessed to have found a church home and found a group of wonderful people to share with. We had so much fun and the kids had a blast. Between the playhouse, trampoline, four wheeler, and mule ~ I think all the kids had a great time.

Brooks getting his first look at a craw fish. Not sure what that look is telling his dad!

 The great chefs!

Blurry picture, but we couldn't get them to slow down! They loved driving around!

 Brooks was definitely Mr. Social!

 Chillin' in his bouncy!

Taylor and Jax enjoying the great food.

Who knew we would need a fire and sweat shirts in the middle of May!

He loved hanging with the ladies!

After so much time being held, Brooks was ready to just relax on his pallet and play.

Time for S'mores. The marshmallows were HUGE! Thanks Kim.

 The food was so good!
