Brooks - 4 months - April 15th

I may not post these on the day he turns each month, but so far I have taken pictures on the day. Spare time is hard to come by so I get the pics up when I can. Brooks, you are the best baby! You have an awesome personality and love to "flirt" with the girls! I so want to stay home with you and spend each and every waking minute with you!

You are now wearing size 3 diapers. You are getting to be such a chunky, big boy! I love it! I am still buying 6 to 9 months clothes for you. The summer stuff is so cute! I can't wait to put you in a pair of swim trunks!
Most of what you are wearing right now is 6 to 9 months.

You are quite the little piggy! You have started drinking almost 6 ounces every 3 hours and are eating cereal in the morning and at night. You weren't too sure of the cereal at first but you love it now! I am mixing it with pear juice and you smack your lips and we can't get it to you fast enough.

You like to have your cereal around 7:30 or so and then will usually take about a 4 ounce bottle around 8:00 p.m. and then you are fast asleep for the night. Within the past couple of weeks, you have started going to bed around 8:00 and then won't wake up until around 5:00 or so. Some nights you wake up a little earlier and want a bottle, but for the most part you are sleeping great! On the weekends, you love for me to turn on Taylor's ipod in your room while you take a nap. You will sleep for 3 or more hours when I do that.
We are still swaddling you at night...you and those arms! If they get lose, you are awake. So I wrap you up tight each night to make sure!

This past week you have found your jabber box. You will coo and goo and laugh all the time. You are the sweetest little baby. You absolutely love to be talked too. You will stare right at the person talking to you and usually respond. I mentioned up top that you are a "flirt." You LOVE the ladies - and the ladies love you! You will smile that all over smile and turn your cute little face away from them and then cut your eyes back at the girls. I know you are flirting, because you don't have the same response towards boys. You will smile at the boys but you only do the other for the girls.

I would say you have definitely mastered rolling over. If we lay you down on your back, it sure does not take very long before you have flipped over onto your stomach. You have even managed to "scoot" some. Not crawling but moving enough that you get off the blanket I have put you on.

You are a drool monster! I can see the tip of a bottom tooth, but it is not breaking through.

You go to the doctor tomorrow for your 4 month check up. I can't wait to see how much you weigh and how much you have grown!

Then on Tuesday, you go for s-h-o-t-s! Yuck! I hate shots, but I know you need them to stay healthy!

You love staying with MeMa and you really love when PaPa gets to stay home from work to. You have really attached yourself to your PaPa and he absolutely loves it! Maybe in a few years you will be his fishing buddy!

Brooks, I thank God every day for bringing you into our lives. I did not know I could love someone or something so much...even when I didn't know I needed it! I always thought that I would only have two children. God knew I needed three. He had a greater plan for me, that I didn't even know and I am so amazed and blessed that he chose me to be your mommy! I love you sweet baby boy!

**Monday, April 25, 2011 - you had your 4 month check up today. You are such a big boy! You weighed 17 pounds, 1 ounce. You are 26.5 inches tall and your head is 16.5 inches. She said you are definitely going to be a big boy when you grow up! Also, your first tooth broke through today! Bottom right one! You aren't going to look like a baby much longer!

Oh Glorious Day!

One day when Heaven was filled with His praises
One day when sin was as black as could be
Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin
Dwelt among men, my example is He
Word became flesh and the light shined among us
His glory revealed

Living, He loved me
Dying, He saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away
Rising, He justified freely forever

One day He’s coming
Oh glorious day, oh glorious day

One day they led Him up Calvary’s mountain
One day they nailed Him to die on a tree
Suffering anguish, despised and rejected

Bearing our sins, my Redeemer is He
Hands that healed nations, stretched out on a tree
And took the nails for me

One day the grave could conceal Him no longer
One day the stone rolled away from the door
Then He arose, over death He had conquered
Now He’s ascended, my Lord evermore
Death could not hold Him, the grave could not keep Him
From rising again

One day the trumpet will sound for His coming
One day the skies with His glories will shine
Wonderful day, my Beloved One, bringing
My Savior, Jesus, is mine

This year, Easter has definitely not been about the Easter bunny or the eggs to me. It has been about what our Lord and Savior did for us over 2000 years ago. I don't know that I have ever felt like I do this year. So much has happened over the past year that I feel, think, and worship differently. I feel so blessed today and everyday. My Jesus died and rose again to save me! Wow, that is an amazing thing! Thank you Lord!

Although my feelings and thoughts have definitely been about what Jesus did for us, I too am a mom and had to celebrate with the candy, eggs, and treats for the kids. But, in the mix of all of it, I made sure to ask them what the day really means. They both knew the story and could talk about it. And I loved that.

My birthday!

Wow, that's a lot of posts...I was so far behind. If you follow this, keep reading because I posted several things today. On a final note, yesterday was my birthday. I am now closer to 40 than I am 30. Does that even seem possible? I had the best day yesterday. I love having a birthday on the weekend because I go to spend the entire day with my family. We spent all day outside working on the yard and flower beds. I love being outside! The weather was absolutely perfect. Last night we met up with very dear friends for dinner at Shogun. We had a blast. The pictures don't even do the night justice, and not sure I can even caption the pictures and do them justice. It was so funny...and I laughed so hard. God has put some pretty amazing people in my life and I love all of them!

 Love me some sushi!!

JD got a tad sun burnt after our day of yard work.

 Tate, Alisa, Jessica and Brad

 Kerry, Zach, Heidi and Keith

 Heath and Mary

The guys would not quit making us laugh!

Then it was their turn...and they were trying to be cool!

 Don't even know here!

 Not sure where Keith went!

The cutest and best tasting cake! It had cupcakes around it, but I didn't get a picture before they were gone!

I feel so blessed!
