Two month stats

Just wanted to get this documented. Brooks had his 2 month check up and shots this past week. He is growing so fast! He made huge growths since his 3 week. He weighs 13 lbs 6 oz, and is 24 1/4 inches long! 90th and 97th percentile! He was around the 70th before! His head measures 16 inches. She said he is a very healthy, happy, big boy! We love him so much!!!

Brooks ~ 2 months old

You are wearing size 2 diapers and mostly 3 to 6 months clothes.
You are taking a bottle about every 3 hours, 4 to 5 ounces at a time.
Your are starting to sleep so much better. You take a couple of cat naps each morning and afternoon and usually one or two really good naps throughout the day. You are so much more alert now! You sleep better at night if you take a bottle around 8:30 or 9:00. Then you will sleep until about 4:00 or 5:00 a.m. That's not too bad! You are still sleeping in your SwaddleMe blanket and in your bouncy seat inside the pack n play.
You still love to cuddle and be held! Which I love!!!

You are just now starting to get a personality. Can't you tell from the picture! You love to be talked to and are starting to coo and smile back. You are awake more during the day now, and are interacting with everyone. It is amazing how much you have changed in just the past two weeks. You went from being a newborn to a baby.

I started back to work this week! :( I was not ready at all. You have had a crazy week along with mommy. You are staying with MeMa until the school year is over. Mommy, Daddy, Grace, and MeMa have all had a "cold" for a few days. MeMa started feeling bad on your second day with her and started running a fever. Come to find her she did not have a cold at all, she had type A flu! So you were exposed and we are all praying you do not get it. So, you have been staying with Mrs. Jessica and Mrs. Debbie this week instead of MeMa. Thank goodness you are an easy going baby! You are doing so good with them and they just love you to death! I am so glad!

You go for your 2 month check up on Monday and on Tuesday get your first shots! Boo!!!

Brooks, I want to bottle you up and keep you little! You are already growing so fast and changing so much! I know how quickly time is going to get away from us and before we know it, you will be in kindergarten like Grace! I thank God every day for bringing you into our lives! I thought my family was complete before, but God knew you were the perfect ending to our family! I love you so much and pray God continues to watch over you and keeps you healthy and makes you a strong boy!

Snow Day #955

The amount of snow we have received this winter has been unbelievable. I don't remember in snowing like this in a long time. The kids have not had a full week of school since the beginning of January. As it stands now they will not, and I guess me too, will not get out school until the first week of June. There is good and bad in that. For every day the school is out for snow, I do not get charged a sick day for maternity leave and therefore do not lose any money/pay. But that also means that it will be longer before I am out for the summer and get to spend my days with Brooks again. I start back to work on Monday and am not looking forward to it. The past 8 weeks have flown by. I can not believe Brooks is already 8 weeks old! It just does not seem possible.

The snow is still falling outside and we probably have about 6 inches on the ground. I do not look for the kids to go to school tomorrow. The temperature is dropping as I type this. So what have we been up to today? Lots of cooking, playing, and resting. Grace has a nasty runny nose, but no fever thank goodness (or should I put yet?). I am hoping it is only a bad cold and she will be on the mend soon. She came home from school yesterday and feel asleep before 5:00 and did not get up until 8:00 this morning. But so far today, seems to be feeling much better!

Here is what our day looked like:

Lots of playing and smiling!

Lego's have invaded the living room!

Made a "cave" for her cars!

This wasn't part of today but I did reframe/frame the kids pictures.

Brooks shrine, um I mean collage, in his room.
I couldn't decide so I hung them all and I really like how it turned out.

This little guy hasn't napped hardly at all today. He finally gave it up.

I can not wait for the beautiful green leaves and flowers to start growing!

What is it about cold and snow that makes me want to cook and eat!
Heart cake we made today.

Chicken noodle soup in the crock pot for supper!

Hoping and praying this the last snow we get for the winter! But, I guess we will just have to wait and see!

We had a few people over for the Super Bowl on Sunday. I think everyone had a great time, I know I did. We had lots of great food, conversation, and fellowship. I didn't take a lot of pictures but I did manage to get a few but not of everyone. Brooks loved all the attention he received!!!

Enough Already!

Well snow day #2 turned into snow day #3 on Wednesday. I guess we really needed to call it an ice day, because that is about all we got. And now,  a day later - here we go again. At least the kids were already out of school for Winter Break. This time it is snow ~ I would say about 2 inches or so are out there right now. It's still coming down. I don't remember getting this many snow days in a long time, maybe ever. It's crazy. The groundhog predicted an early spring the other day and let's hope he was correct. I am so over the snow! I am ready for warm, sunny days where we can get outside and go places. The kids have had two hair appointments rescheduled because of the weather and the roads. By the time we finally thaw out and are able to get in to get their hair cut, Taylor's hair will be as long as Grace's. Okay, maybe I am exaggerating but it seems like it is never going to stop. They are calling for another chance of snow on Sunday night and then a pretty good chance Tuesday night into Wednesday. I guess only time will tell. The snow we are getting today wasn't really in the forecast until late last night, so you just never know around here what is going to happen.  Waiting on JD to get home now. Still haven't decided if we will venture out in the snow or not!

Winter Storm ~ Snow Day #2

Well, this time we got the call before 6:00 a.m. so we all got to sleep in. Good thing too because I woke up with a sore throat, major headache, and runny nose. I am praying it is not the flu! I have taken some Theraflu and so far it is helping, so we will see.

I am watching the light snow blow around outside. Not sure we will get much more accumulation but here sure is a lot of sleet on the ground right now. So much so, that it looks like it has snowed.

We are all snuggled in and I am about to put on a pot of soup. Gotta love a snow day!
