This past weekend was absolutely beautiful! I can not wait for spring now! The high on Saturday was around 76 degrees and the kids played outside all day. I took Brooks for his first walk in the stroller down the road. It was so nice. I went ahead and bundled him up because the wind was blowing and I wasn't sure how cold he would get. That was on Friday. But on Saturday, we went again and it was amazing outside. It is hard to imagine that the weather can be like that one day and by tomorrow, we will all be longing for those days again. They have predicted a winter storm for our area. I guess we will just have to wait and see if it actually happens. Until then...we can dream of warmer days!

Sunday, January 23, 2011 ~ Brooks was baptized this past Sunday at church.
All things bright and beautiful, All creatures great and small, All things wise and wonderful; The Lord God made them all.
All thy children shall be taught of the Lord;
and great shall be the peace of thy children.
You shall therefore impress these words of mine on your heart and your soul...And you shall teach them to your sons, talking to htem when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road and when you lie down and when you rise up.
Deuteronomy 11:18, 19
The Lord bless you and keep you.

Brooks, I honestly don't know where the past four weeks have gone. I can't believe you have already been here for a month. You are the most beautiful baby. We love you so much. I am truly cherishing each and every moment with you. You have already changed so much and are starting to show us your personality. You love to have Taylor and Grace sing or talk to you. You will watch both of them so intently when they are playing with you.
You are wearing size 0 to 3 months clothes and size 1 diapers.
Just this past weekend we increased your bottle to 4 oz every 3 1/2 to 4 hours.
We usually put you to bed around 10 p.m. Most nights you are getting up around 1 a.m. and then again around 4 or 5 a.m., which isn't too bad. You are sleeping in your bouncy seat in the pack n play. We swaddle you as tight as we can get you and you seem so much more content that way. There were a couple weeks we were just swaddling you and putting you in the pack n play and that was just not working. I figured out that the bouncy seat would fit just right in the top part of the pack n play and since then, you are sleeping so much better.
You LOVE to cuddle and be held.
At your doctor appointment on January 5th, you weighed 9 lbs, 8 oz and 21 inches. In the last week or so, I really think you have put on more weight.
You are really starting to fill out and seem so much bigger. We have found out that you love to be on your tummy. You are so content while on it.
Brooks, you are such a blessing in our lives, an unexpected joy. I do not know what our lives would be like if you were not in them. God works in mysterious ways. My prayers for you are for you to grow up in a loving, Christian home, for you to be happy and healthy, and know that you are so loved by everyone.

January 10, 2011 - we got our first snow day! The kids were excited to get out of school and I was excited to not have to get up and take them! We didn't get a lot of snow, about an inch but it was enough to make the roads bad. We all enjoyed sleeping in and then playing in the snow.
Brooks enjoyed the nice warm house instead of going out in the snow!
