Survival Mode

Today was pure survival mode. Taylor came down with a nasty stomach bug that kept him and me up from 10:00 p.m. last night until almost 5:00 a.m. this morning. He spend the day at home with MeMa, but I am coveting my much needed sick days for my maternity leave. So to say the least I felt like a walking zombie today. Thankfully I didn't take anyone's head off and managed to get through the day. I have such a wonderful mom, not only did she come stay with Taylor today and risk being infected, she disinfected and cleaned my whole house AND stayed another hour after I got home and let me get a nap in. I am so blessed to have her!

Taylor is still not back to normal but is starting to stir around this evening. Looks like though it will be another day home from school for him. I am always the person with the glass half full, so I am waiting for someone else to come down with it, even though we took every measure imaginable to try to prevent it.

Oh My!

I am sitting at work today and glance over at my computer and see an email from Taylor's teacher with just his name as the subject. So, I immediately think he has gotten in trouble again or that he is sick. Thankfully neither were true, but she didn't want to tell me that he had two different shoes on - a tennis shoe and a football cleat! Funny part of the story, he didn't even realize it, some other girl pointed it at. But, he was a very good sport about it. His teacher thought he was crying, but it was because he was laughing so hard at him self. So, today, my dear sweet son went around school with two different shoes on and was able to laugh about it! Gotta love him!

Well, it's been an interesting week. Taylor got in a fight at school and got his first detention. Luckily he didn't start the fight, he just defended himself, but he also got into trouble for retaliating. I can see both sides, JD thought it was ridiculous that he got in trouble. For those of you that know Taylor, the little boy must have really been aggravating him for him to snap and get into a fight. But, after a long talk, hopefully we have learned what to do and what not to do when someone bothers us and he will react differently next time.

Our lives right now revolve around football season. With practice and games, it seems like that is all we are doing. Our first couple of games have been unbelievably hot. But finally today, it feels like fall has arrived. Chili sounded so good, so we made a huge pot of it and it was really good. This is my favorite time of year. I love the cooler days and much cooler nights. Being 7 months pregnant, the cooler weather is much welcomed.

Grace has managed to stay out of trouble for two weeks now! I made a deal with her that if she could go a month without getting a color other than green, she could get a new DS game. So far so good! She is really enjoying school and has already learned so much!

Brooks is growing by leaps and bounds. I must really be getting a belly on me because I got several comments this week about looking "really" pregnant. I go this week for my 28 week appointment and then on Friday, my dear friend is going to do a 4D ultrasound to see if we can see his sweet little face. I am really excited! I can't believe that in about 11 or 12 weeks, if  I carry him to term, we will have a new baby! If someone would have told me this time last year that I was having another baby, I would have told them they were crazy! But, I can't imagine anything else right now!

Football Frenzy

Most of this post revolves around football. This is probably my most favorite time of the year, aside from having to go back to work. Our whole family loves football...HOGS, DOGS, and now Pitbulls. And it is a good thing we love it so much, because it has consumed most of our lives for the past several weeks.

Taylor before the Pitbull Jamboree

He is finally figuring out that it is fun to tackle other players.

Wonder what's going on in that huddle?

Taking care of the other team.

2010 Pitbull Kickoff

First Hog football game, first fire in the fire pit for the season!

Our favorite Hog cheerleader Paige!
We were so excited to see her on the tv!

Besides football, school has been moving right along. Grace's behavior chart has another blue mark on it. This time for playing (putting makeup on) in the bathroom, instead of coming back to class. I am getting worried that her chart is going to start looking like a rainbow if she isn't careful!

Brooks is growing by leaps and bounds. I went this week for my 24 week appointment and took my glucose test. They didn't call on Friday, so they said if I didn't hear from them everything was good. He is the most active of my three pregnancies. He is moving all the time. My total weight gain so far is only 7 pounds. Dr. M told me for next month he wants to see at least 4 pounds but would be happy with 6. Guess I have some eating to do. But, I was so sick for so many weeks that I just either didn't feel like eating, or would throw everything up, so I have some catching up to do. My belly is definitely getting bigger and I am getting more uncomfortable, so even with the low weight gain, I feel very pregnant! I am enjoying it though. I had forgotten how wonderful it feels to feel that tiny baby move inside. Although so times, he could calm down just a little bit! :)

Really enjoying the cooler weather (makes being pregnant more bearable), the beautiful nights and cooler mornings. I can't wait for it to stay that way! Fall is probably my favorite season! I love making soups, casseroles, and all the good stuff that just doesn't sound good or is too hot for the summer.

Yesterday, we had a birthday party for my brother (he turned 40 in August), my niece (18), my mom, and my dad. Both sides of the family came over and it was a wonderful time. I forgot my camera, but will have pictures from my mom's soon.

Feeling so blessed! God is good!
